![]() KeeWeb out of the box supports seven color themes for every taste. Yes, I remember that plugins can implement everything in KeePass. ![]() Therefore, I will tell you what makes KeeWeb different. This is a complete password manager with all the necessary features. Everything you are used to at KeePass is here. Talking about all the features of KeeWeb, I do not see the point. Yes, there are plugins here, which I will discuss below. Russian language in KeeWeb is installed using plugins. The design of the application is light, in a dark theme and modern. Otherwise, after exporting or creating a new database, you will have a completely familiar password manager interface in structure. Unfortunately, you can import passwords only from KeePass or from any other password manager that can export the database to. You can also start the password generator directly from the start window and without authorization. The database can be opened both from the local drive, and from WebDav, Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. Where you can open an existing database, create a new one or try a demo base. On Windows and Linux, there are versions that do not require installation. The client is available on all major desktop platforms: Windows, macOS and Linux. KeeWeb is a free, open source password manager and fully compatible with KeePass. I will not argue, although I do not agree with this.īut today's post about KeeWeb is the alternative between KeePass and fans of modern LastPass, Dashlane and others. All this works easily and without problems, and in general, the author is a fool. Yes, in each such post I got comments that there is synchronization and autofill. There is no synchronization between devices, autocomplete, the ability to work without a client at all, and much more. Even despite the fact that in the modern world it is not so convenient to use. I’m not saying you should completely avoid Keeweb, I’m just advising to avoid it if you don’t really need it.For many KeePass is the only true password manager. It contains all the keys to your online identity and personal data.Įven though it’s password-protected, every new way for you to access your file may become a new way for an attacker to steal it if a vulnerability is discovered. Today, I share a quick note if you can’t install an application on the said computer. There was one main limitation, though: the solution I exposed implied you had to install an application to read your password on a computer. Something that you would host yourself, so that you would remain in control of your sensitive data. Last year, I wrote a post to propose an open source alternative to ready-to-use password managers like LastPass, 1Password and so on.
