The point is when they DO flick on their radar, the detector will pick that up. Out here for me it's Ka and laser.everything else can be off.though I will be using a third party app to pick up MRCD/MRCT since the Gen 2 doesn't have gps.īut even then, I know that beyond random chirps, much of the time I will pass cops as I have been for years and nothing will happen. And laser? Laser requires the officer to be stationary to use it. But that doesn't mean every cop on the street is actively running it. But in any case, K and definitely Ka are going to be common for you. The Redline 360C boasts an excellent detection range that is around twice as far as the previous EX-model. Depending on how good that Redline is it could be picking up a ton of useless K band from people's garage doors or small businesses. You are in Massachusetts.my understanding is K, Ka and lidar (laser) is used. Just check to be sure you haven't muted it (even then it should alert you when it picks up something). I am not getting the same detector as you, but I am sure your detector is working just fine. They are human (that's what I've been told). Or, they're drinking the proverbial coffee and eating donuts. Often that's enough to get most people's attention and lift off of the gas a touch. The overwhelming majority of the time I passed police they were doing other things. I have been ticketed twice: one by a cop and another by a MRCD camera that I fought and got dismissed. In all the years that passed between radar detectors, I still sped around and have passed countless cops and highway patrol. ![]() ![]() I am waiting for the V1 Gen 2 I ordered to arrive in few days. The last radar detector I owned was like 34-35 years ago.a Cobra. It can make you wonder but, seriously, they really don't spend every waking moment with a radar gun in hand looking for you.
